We just wrapped up our first week abroad and what a whirlwind it's been! (It's Sunday evening our time, early Sunday morning most of your time, which takes some getting used to.) With other logistics accounted for, we signed on and settled in to a near-perfect officetel (or office/hotel, a modern Korean small apartment) which I'll share tidbits of soon, made use of our new gym memberships (cannot wait for my next yoga class), started to get our bearings, and enjoyed delicious food and drink in each other's company. I've also had to quickly brush up on my Korean, which hasn't been disastrous. :)
This Sunday morning, I finally had a moment to sip a cup of tea, breathe, and take it all in. I'm trying to develop routines to feel more at home (more on that in another post). Though I don't feel quite ready to return to work-mode tomorrow (first day in my new school teaching all grades 7-12...never have I ever), and maybe it's too soon to say, I feel happy.
I'm already learning so much about so much. I've been vlogging since our departure from Chicago, so I forget that I haven't yet, but I can't wait to share it all with you.
