Best beauty discoveries:
Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation and Filmstar Bronze & Glow, or my most reached-for base products. I'm especially loving her Light Wonder Foundation this time of year for its dewy finish. I don't remember the last time I used Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua, my (former) all-time favorite. Her Filmstar Bronze & Glow does exactly that, bronze and glow, in a subtle yet impactful way. Her gorgeous rose gold packaging is just the cherry on top! See both products in action, and my review, here.
surratt beauty Artistique Blush (photographed) in the shades Duchesse, La Rosee du Soir, and Grisaille. I picked these up in the Sephora VIB sale and have used them every day since I received them. All three shades are natural in finish and build-able, and not at all powdery. Grisaille is a contour shade and is better than what I imagine Kevyn Aucoin's The Sculpting Powder to be.
2016 was the year of the brow--I found a threading stylist who gets me, and started filling my brows. It's impressive how much the shape of your brows affects your entire face. An honorable mention for Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, which I used up this year, but the best brow product discovery goes to Glossier's Boy Brow.
Best haircare discoveries:
T3 Twirl. My review--I freaking love this thing. In all seriousness, it's a beautiful tool that heats up and cools down quickly, and produces beautiful soft and shiny curls. I hadn't met a hair tool that makes the condition of your hair look and feel better after using it. It's convinced me that hair tools are ones to invest in!
Moroccanoil Treatment. This is the first haircare product that has made a difference in the condition of my hair. I recently heat-styled my mom's hair after applying it, and though she initially bridled at the thought of oil being applied to her hair, she marveled at how soft and smooth it made her hair feel and asked me to apply it again the next time.
