In the Groove
This weekend out and about in the crisp fall weather is just what the doctor ordered. I'll share about it in a minute, but today, I wanted to give a quick mention to my new illustration! Isn't she a beaut?
I'd seen illustrations on a handful of blogs and sites and thought they were fresh and added character, but hadn't found the right artist (and, to be honest, the right price) until I stopped by the lovely Lisa's blog and noticed her illustration by a fellow Jen (of Jen and Jennifer). A (not-so) quick scroll through her Instagram feed and I was all heart-eyed emojis. I commissioned a portrait, and after a few email exchanges, Jen created everything I had hoped for, with thoughtful personal touches--an apple as a nod to my teaching career, a Rhode Island mug, Luna asleep atop books on music and travel, the prettiest shirt I own, a couple of Aesop products, and a marble vase of mugunghwa, the national flower of South Korea.
Other updates: on the homepage, you can access the navigation and search bar. Just below are the four most recent posts (you can view all posts under 'Latest'). Under the illustration, an about me, and a couple Instagram posts and banner, are the categories 'travel,' 'life,' 'style,' and 'beauty,' and links to a few of my favorite things (which you can also view under 'About'). It feels good to have things look and function the way that I envision, and to be back in the blogging groove!
