May Flowers

Happy May Day! I can't believe it's already the start of a new month, but I'm looking forward to what this one will bring. April was a month of good news and personal achievements, so May will be a time for celebration!

The saying April showers bring May flowers could not have been more true in New England--last week was a new level of gloomy and dreary (and I was hit with the worst cold/virus to match), but Saturday made it all worth it at 70 degrees and sunny, with Boston in full bloom.

I mean.

We headed to Boston to see the Cubs play the Red Sox (I swapped the scalloped shirt for my new Kris Bryant jersey), as I mentioned in this post, after spending the morning wandering the city. Our first stop was Tatte Bakery & Cafe on Charles Street for a breakfast of avocado tartine for me and a sandwich and coffee for A. We walked off our meal in the Beacon Hill area, where I stopped at every corner, alley, and sign of a blossom to snap photos. The residents who were out and about were kind, said hello and offered compliments. One driver even stopped in the middle of the street as I snapped a photo of the flower shop across, making sure I got the photo I wanted before driving by.

After more of the same in the Back Bay, we hydrated with a juice at Jugos, picking up a couple chocolate cashew milks to bring home, then trekked to Fomu for a cup of sweet lavender ice cream before finally heading to Fenway.
