I'm so happy to start the summer with my favorite outfit, location, and photos to date! I've been antsy to post but had been swamped wrapping up the school year and celebrating with staff and students. A and I have so much planned and unplanned for this summer, and I can't wait to share every bit!
Yesterday, we trekked down to Newport to become members of The Preservation Society of Newport County. Though admission to the Newport Mansions is not actually 'members only', membership benefits include free admission to regular tours for one year! We found this to be the best option as there is so much to see and learn, and we'd be able to do so at our leisure. I'll never tire of the history, architecture, interiors, furnishings, ornate decor, and beautiful and expansive grounds. I get lost in another world of wondrous things.
We made it just in time for final admission into The Elms - more on that in my next post!
Buying each piece of this outfit was possibly one of the easiest and most instantaneous decisions of my making. I was perusing ASOS not intending to buy anything (it always seems to go that way, doesn't it?) when I spotted this blouse, then immediately 'shopped the look' (bless ASOS and this feature) for the shorts. I'll spare you the details on the Chanel-inspired pumps, but have a read here if you haven't yet and are interested. :) All I need now are the massive pearl earrings!
The next four photos are my favorite we've ever taken. When we wandered over and I saw the sunlight creeping from behind the trees, I just knew. A even captured that golden-hour sunlight glare.
It was about closing time, but the friendly grounds security guard asked if we had seen the lower garden yet. I couldn't believe there was still more to see! We shuffled down the stairs to quickly take it all in.
But more on that next time.
