Outfit details: Zara blazer (old), Ann Taylor turtleneck (similar on sale!), LOFT jeans, Old Navy booties
Long time, no write! Partly because I've been drained coming home from work recently with my students preparing for their exhibitions, but to be honest, I've also just been uninspired - this morning, I nearly had a panic attack trying to figure out what to wear (hyperbolic, but seriously)...and then trying to find my keys, which had fallen into a pocket in my bag, when I was already late for a meeting...then again, maybe it's just work. :)
Either way, I thought some reverse psychology might get me back into the swing of things - if I write about an outfit that inspired me, I might become inspired. Hence, this outfit post. If you follow me on Instagram, you'll have seen the photo above of an outfit I 'threw together,' which goes to show how versatile of a piece a blazer can be! It instantly dresses up any outfit, but can still remain casual paired with jeans, by leaving the front unbuttoned, or with details like cuffed sleeves, striped lining, and button tabs. I draped a faux fur stole (also from Zara) around my shoulders to combat the cold and dress up the look further.
I unfortunately was unable to find a similar blazer option, but did find a couple of other options that I love and am now considering purchasing! This Chanel-esque jacket in ecru and this cape-style blazer, available in black (my favorite), white, blush (probably my second pick), camel, blue, navy, and a stripe print.
What clothing piece has been inspiring you lately?
