Our New Favorite Restaurant in Seoul
I shared the places we keep going back to in Seoul in this post, and after just one visit, I already know that this restaurant will top that list. We had walked by it countless times on our way to and from Carbo Mama, and each time, would say that we needed to try it. Without any reviews or photos on the app we use to find food and drink spots, we took a chance and had Sunday brunch at Song Ha.
The interior is an open space that still feels intimate, with mid-century modern furniture, gold and marble accents, cool light fixtures, and minimal decor. It’s clear in the set-up and placement that every detail was thought out and intentional.
The same can be said about the extensive menu and the presentation of each dish. We ended up ordering three dishes and two drinks, more than enough for two even big eaters, and still quite narrowed down from the pages of items.
We started with the rosé pasta, served with fresh-out-of-the-oven bread that we dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. This was our favorite dish—I found myself selfishly picking up as much penne as I could before A got to them! Our second dish was a croque monsieur, which was much larger than we anticipated for only 6,000 KRW ($5.58 USD). Our final dish was the breakfast platter in the photo above, with perfect portions of butter and maple syrup served in the cutest dishware. For drinks, A ordered an Irish coffee rimmed with sugar crystals and I had an apple hibiscus tea. I’m not sure what was best—the space, the food, the sweet proprietors, or the bill, a whopping 39,400 KRW ($36.77 USD)!
I almost don’t want to share this, but Song Ha is located in Yangjae, off of the Shinbundang Line 242-7, Yangjae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul 1F (서울시 서초구 양재동 242-7).
