This dress seems to have disappeared overnight! I picked it up on sale a couple weeks ago to wear to a friend's birthday/Master's program graduation celebration, but it's unfortunately no longer available online. I would check your local Ann Taylor if you're obsessed with it like I am!
I picked mine up in-store in regular sizing (XS), preferring the longer length. I think this is one of the more unique and interesting pieces Ann Taylor have done, from the print and color to the details such as the pockets and tie-waist. I can picture Rachel McAdams's character in The Notebook wearing it; it's classic with a modern twist. I love how it pairs with curls, cat-eyes, and my lace-up heels! I wish they would bring out a romper version!
The lightweight (and machine-washable) fabric makes it ideal to wear in the summer, though it will also work well with booties and knits in the fall. It was definitely feeling like summertime last week when we snapped these photos at India Point Park, where we enjoyed a leisurely stroll and then to Wickenden Street (see my posts here and here) where we stopped to enjoy fresh sashimi.
We were fortunate to enjoy summer weather throughout the long weekend, which we spent hosting friends. They arrived late Friday night and stayed until Monday morning. We cooked an English-style breakfast Saturday morning, had lobster rolls and oysters for lunch, did the cliff walk in Newport, and sipped Del's frozen watermelon lemonade on the beach, then walked downtown in the evening for dinner and drinks. On Sunday, we food-hopped, starting at North Bakery for hand pies and iced Earl Grey with vanilla (delish), to Pastiche for fruit tarte and cakes, then gourmet pretzels and craft beers, and ending with more desserts. After a minor league baseball game, where we gorged on hotdogs, we warmed up with a late hot pot dinner. After our friends left on Monday, A took me on a date to see Alice Through the Looking Glass - a wonderful way to end a wonderful weekend. See more weekend details on Twitter and Facebook!
What have you all been up to? x
