Restyling Old Pieces
I was about ready to give up on this well-worn and loved sweater and necklace, but decided to hold on to them a while longer after pairing them with these jeans and booties (on major sale!) this weekend, a combination of classic and edgy. We're approaching that transitional time in New England when it's not so cold that you need to bundle up, but it's not yet warm enough to pull out your spring and summer wear. This outfit was perfect for our Saturday brunch date and usual errands.
Speaking of dates, A took me out on two this weekend! Friday, almost immediately after work, we headed to the theater to see Beauty and the Beast, a date A had been planning since I told him about it almost two years ago. Emma Watson was perfect for the part. I feel like I've grown up with her--I must have been 8 or 9 years old when she was cast as Hermione. I was so excited for the Harry Potter films to come out, and still each year that one did, usually around my birthday. That coupled with Beauty and the Beast being my favorite Disney and childhood film (I was so young that I couldn't work our VHS player and asked my mom to rewind and replay the tape every time it ended) brought all the feels.
Saturday, we tried brunch at Rogue Island, a little spot downtown in The Arcade, a historic shopping center built in 1828, one of our favorite sights in Rhode Island and highly underrated. I had the huevos rancheros (a standard brunch order) and a mojito mocktail, he had the eggs Benedict and a bloody Mary, and we shared a 'small dish' of poutine fries. It was all as delectable as it sounds! (You may have caught it on my Instagram stories)
I'm saving my pennies to refresh my spring and summer wardrobe in a couple months (so far, I have my eye on this blouse, this sweater, a pair of Madewell jeans, and these oxfords), so restyling old pieces is a project. There are some clothing and beauty bits that I'm looking to rehome--stop by my depop if you're interested! x
