Treating ourselves to a meal out (usually on a Friday night), weekend farmers market runs with stops at local bakeries for coffee, good bread, and a pastry (or three), making the bed with fresh sheets and spritzing the pillowcases with lavender and chamomile, snuggling with Luna before getting ready for work--these small day-to-day rituals are ones I've been savoring. It has been difficult to sustain inspiration with the current sociopolitical climate, capstone of my graduate studies, and general January blues, so savoring small moments has been essential.
On a more frivolous note, this may be one of my favorite outfits to feature on affecionada. This Madewell sweater is all sorts of soft and cosy. I wish I picked it up in other colors (rose in particular)! Stock is limited, but it's worth it to stalk the site (I've noticed colors and sizes pop up again) or stop by your nearest store.
And I've finally found my perfect pair of ripped jeans! They were a splurge, but worth it for the quality of the denim, as was the case with my perfect pair of ripped shorts. I tucked them into my new-favorite booties, currently 40% off!
I wore this outfit through our Sunday morning ritual--at Wildflour, a new (to us) vegan spot, for breakfast, and a stop at Seven Stars Bakery to pick up vegetarian sandwiches, a loaf of olive bread, and a chocolate almond croissant.
Here's to a (hopefully) more inspiring week! x
