With fall fashion comes transitional beauty -- deeper hues in matte textures (though my palette is still fairly soft and neutral). With my firsts of fall fashion (see this post and this post), I wanted to share my favorite transitional beauty products.
As the weather becomes brisk, I make sure to prime the Ls -- locks, lips, and limbs. Recently, I've been using Hask's Argan Oil Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner to cleanse and condition my sun-exposed locks. I first discovered Hask when we stayed in this sweet Airbnb. I thought the products would be expensive as most of the toiletries for our use were, so I was surprised to happen upon them in Target the other day at only $5.99 each! They are effective at cleansing without stripping and conditioning without weighing down, have a fresh citrus scent, and leave my straight hair even straighter (which makes me curious about the Keratin Protein Smoothing formula). I easily brush through my locks, allow them to air-dry, then apply a small amount of Moroccanoil Treatment to the ends. I've mentioned it before, Nuxe Reve de Miel is my favorite lip balm. Its matte texture is perfect for the fall, when I tend to wear more lip products. For my limbs, (should I be embarrassed to admit?) I use simple Johnson's baby lotion as I adore the scent.
Three of my favorite nail polish shades for fall are Essie's lady like (soft mauve) and after school boy blazer (opaque navy), and Chanel's Rouge Noir (cult-classic deep red). On the eyes, Armani's Eyes to Kill Intense Eyeshadow in 15 is a complex foliage-like gold. On the cooler side, Burberry's Eye Colour Silk in Rosewood is a pink-toned taupe (in my favorite eyeshadow formula). Chanel's Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eyeshadow in Prelude is a long-standing favorite of mine for adding 'natural' depth and dimension to the eyes. On the cheeks, Tarte's Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed is the perfect shade, and on the lips, ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Midi is a complimentary pink, while Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Quince is a cool-tone bright berry.
The last step of my beauty routine is a spritz (or several) of my current favorite scent, Lazy Sunday Morning.
