When I was younger, my mom bought my sister and me gorgeous matching pink tweed sets. The jackets had lapels and the skirts slightly ruffled hems. I saved it only for special occasions for fear of ruining it, which is a shame--I'd wear the heck out of it now!
These photos do not do this matching set justice! Woven into the multi-colored tweed are bronze-gold sequins that catch light and twinkle as you move. I managed to capture a Boomerang of the effect here. I ordered these pieces 50% off during Ann Taylor's Black Friday sale and wasn't sure if I'd keep either, but they are so stunning and well-made individually that I had to keep the set.
Ann Taylor know how to do tweeds. The detail is intricate and the fabric feels luxurious in your hands. This Chanel-esque jacket would pair well with a ruffled blouse and jeans, a solid-color dress, or high-waisted flare trousers. For reference, I'm wearing a 0P which fits perfectly with a top and snugly with this black turtleneck. The skirt is 00P and sits exactly at the waist. I'm envisioning it with this black blazer or a leather jacket. I paired the set with these versatile bronze pumps, previously featured here. Any of these style ideas would make for a unique and chic holiday party look, and be work-appropriate!
Both pieces, and other Ann Taylor 'perfect party outfits', are currently 40% off with code PARTY40. Other pieces that caught my eye--my tweed set in dress form, this fringe tweed pencil skirt, this wool sleeveless sweater dress, these suede scalloped heels (in burgundy), and this darling velvet bow clutch.
